Due to Corona, Population Foundation of India has decided not to fund the expansion of population stabilization program in Bahraich, UP. We hope they will resume funding the program later in the year.
SAM USA had to cancel the annual fund raising gala in May, which has put stress on our own ability to fund our programs. Lack of funds and inability to freely operate in the field compelled us to let all staff stay home for the month of April on full salary and in retain only the essential staff at 50 percent of their Salary. We have some funds left from last year and hope to stretch it over next few months. And some funds left over from our external funders, PFI and RGF have been placed in reserve. We will use them when the programs restart.
