The year ahead
We wish a healthy and productive 2020 to all our supporters. The coming year will see expansion of programs.
SAM will cover all 1400 villages of Bahraich district with the population stabilization program. This district abuts the Indo Nepal border in north Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the poorest districts of India with high population growth.
SAM will expand the program of reducing mortality of children, under 5 years of age, to ten urban slums of Varanasi. Currently, SAM works in 2 slums.
The program in Muzaffarpur, Bihar will expand to all 125 villages in Minapur block from the current thirty. This program will reduce deaths due to encephalitis and malnutrition among children.
Following our success, SAM will withdraw from some of the villages in Amethi and Gadag, where maternal mortality is close to zero. SAM will test if the villages are able to sustain this success on their own.
By the end of 2020, SAM will leave its impact on 3400 villages and 10 urban slums. Covering over 6 million people through its programs. We are hiring an external agency to validate our impact since 2008.
